JAde Wii of Ask.Audio & Dawless Jammin' talks with Nick Kwas of Korg about the new Waldorf STVC String Synthesizer and Vocoder. She also demos some of the sounds.

The Waldorf STVC is a vocoder and synthesizer based on the famous Streichfett string synth with a 49-key velocity sensitive keyboard with aftertouch, and adds tons more features and potential announced at NAMM 2018.

JAde Wii of Ask.Audio & Dawless Jammin' chats with Nick Kwas of Korg USA about the new synth and then plays it to get a sense of what it is capable of.

“The Streichfett module has long been admired for its amazing sound quality, flexibility, and simplicity in the creation and exploration of synthesized strings, as well as many other textures,” states James Sajeva, Director of Music Technology Brands at Korg, USA, Inc. “This all-new full-size keyboard version, with even more power and features, is a very exciting and unique addition to the Waldorf line!”

In addition to the engine enhancements, the STVC adds an all-new Vocoder function to the Streichfett. Housed in the same durable chassis, the Vocoder features excellent speech intelligibility, with freeze mode, a fully polyphonic carrier, gender modification, morphing, and effects like phaser and reverb.

The STVC made its world-wide debut at NAMM 2018 at the Korg USA booth.
