Modstep 1.0 is designed to be the centerpiece of your studio or stage setup and features a MIDI sequencer, drum sampler, synthesizer, and templates to control external MIDI hardware and apps!

Modstep 1.0 is out now and available on the AppStore. Modstep allows you to create music and jam with your iPad. Modstep is all about connectivity:

Seemlessly combine your favorite tools no matter in what shape or format they come: IAA Apps, your MIDI hardware, Mac- and PC Software, as well as the internal drum sampler and synth. Modstep speaks MIDI, Inter-App Audio, can send a trigger-signal and stream MIDI and audio between your computer and your iPad with studiomux.

"We have already submitted the first update, Modstep 1.0.1, to the AppStore. Due to the iTunes holidays, this will take until the end of the year/beginning of next year to go live. The update will feature bugfixes and Ableton Link-integration.

"Although we officially don’t support the iPad 1, all MIDI functionality including MIDI-streaming via studiomux currently works on iOS 5.1.1."

I feel like I've paid to be part of this app's beta test program. Crashes all the time - particularly when attempting any file operation. And no manual! No manual? Are you kidding? I hope the developer sorts this potentially brilliant app out promptly. And provides a manual.
