Want To Master Your Music In Two-Clicks? Check Out Matchering 2.0

Matchering 2.0 is an open-source, web-app solution for mastering of your music. The final master gives you the same RMS, frequency response, peak amplitude and stereo width as the reference track.

Music mastering came to open source. Looks like it's serious now. The Matchering 2.0 open source web app allows you to make complete reference mastering of your track in two clicks. And all this can be done even without an Internet connection. How does it work? Let's figure it out.

The online Matchering service was launched in 2017. It worked for 2 years and was closed. Its source code was released on Github. But at the end of 2019 the work on the already open project continued, its core was completely rewritten in Python, the web part was also completely rethinked and updated, all this was packed in a Docker container so that any user can easily install it on their computer and use it locally even without the Internet connection. Simply install Docker, enter a single command in the terminal and you get your completely free local copy of the app in your browser. No premium subscriptions or pitfalls, everything is transparent. Works on all major platforms: macOS, Windows and Linux.

2 actions: load your track on the left and some already mastered track of your favorite artist on the right. That's all! You can easily try different combinations by simply changing tracks. The rest is done by Matchering.

Surprisingly, this app does not use neural networks. Only pure digital signal processing. It's scary to imagine what will happen if developers connect a neural network to this algorithm in the future. But this is technical progress, and we should follow it to stay on the wave. And finally, if you are a developer, you can easily connect Matchering 2.0 to your app like a LEGO cube.
