Hi guys, Yesterday I was aware that i had a modem type sound in Live. The noise was showing on the Spectrum on the master channel as well. Now I cant work out if its an OSX Snow Leopard issue, A live 8 issue or my machine. I did a fresh install but that never cleared it. I am running 10.6.3 Snow Leopard. If anyone can help that would be great. Oh, I have even used a differed sound card but that did not help either. Thanks

Hi Kristoff, Does this modem style sound occur always during playback in any project in Live or only during recording? Does the noise get recorded too? Have you tried using the built-in audio? What's the different audio interface you used? If the noise is during playback do you hear it during playing songs in iTunes, Logic or other audio applications? Cheers Rounik

It does not seem to be in the audio if i bounce the audio out. I have a M-Audio Firewire SOLO with the latest driver, I borrowed my mates Audio 4DJ USB card to see if it was my firewire port but the same thing happens. In Live when I see the noise on the spectrum I switched to the built in audio device and the noise was still there. The noise is present when using any audio app on my mac. Logic, Live, Reason, iTunes but when bouncing the audio out of DAWS its not recorded in the file. This makes me think its a OSX audio issue maybe?? Thanks

Hi Kristoff, So this is a persistent issue across all audio apps... not when recording only... sounds to me like either an OS issue... or a hardware issue. Did this issue start immediately after upgrading to OSX 10.6.3? Or when updating your M-Audio firewire solo driver? Is it possible to remove the driver and/or switch to a previous version of 10.6 - or boot up using a cloned system? Thanks p.s. make sure to manually disconnect all your hardware, restart your Mac then use the built-in audio interface to see if you still hear this digital noise. Lastly do you have Airport or a modem connected? Disconnect a modem and turn airport off. Do you still hear the noise? Cheers Rounik
