Working with clips of different length
Heya, I am a fairly newish Ableton user. I have worked a fair amount in arrangement view but now moving to session view for live performances. I want to use a clip of a river running throughout the song, so basically a 5 minute clip or so. Is there a way to play this clip so that it plays continuously while I trigger other short clips?

Hi - Yes, you can have a long Clip playing in the Session View in Ableton Live even while switching Scenes -- here's how: - Load the long Clip into a Track - Select all the Clip slots in that Track, and either right-click and choose Remove Stop Button or just hit Command-E - Select the long Clip, and in the Launch Mode settings at the bottom enable Legato mode Removing the Stop Buttons will prevent the long Clip from being stopped whenever you switch Scenes; Legato Mode will make sure the long Clip isn't re-triggered at the beginning if you re-select the Scene it's in.
