    General question...
Hi all! First, this program is great. Workflow is definitely improved due to the fact that so much of the session view capabilities promote on-the-fly improv and recording. Just what I was looking for! Anyways, I did have a question now that I have had a chance to delve into the basic workings of the program using the APC40. Tracks- Is there a general strategy that most folks follow to allow smooth musical flow from one clip to another on a track within an arrangement? For example, I have built a simple drum beat using a drum rack with about 12 waveforms in the pad view. I have 4 clips total on the track that progressively add more and more of the instruments into the texture. I guess my question is, is it better to have a series of clips that are set up to contain a mix of different instruments for use in different parts of the arrangement, or is it better to build the rack in a way so that elements can be dropped or added on the fly using the controller? How do you guys do it? I tend to add and subtract elements of an arrangement or group of instruments quite often, and wondered from a performance point of view how it should be done. The only thing I can think of that would prove to be difficult is if I want to change the texture across the entire spectrum at once, for a huge drop, for instance. Funny thing is, I find Ableton (after working so hard to learn Logic) almost immediately familiar with regards to effects and instruments, et cetera. Now I just have to rewire my thinking in terms of building a song so that I can actually PERFORM it in an efficient way without becoming overwhelmed with macro controls, scenes and individual clip launches. A push in the right strategic direction is greatly appreciated! By the way, Hi Rounik! I say that since I assume you're going to be the one to answer. When is Olav's Ableton video tutorial going to be up? Jamie
