I watched Gary's video tutorial on Studio One and it looks great for beginners. I'm looking forward to an advanced version soon enough. So in the meantime, I hoped I could get at least one or two questions answered here. When working in Logic, one can set up two microphones on the same instrument, in my case guitar amps. Both microphones would be grouped and in that grouping, one is set as the "Q" track while the group is also phase locked. This makes comp swiping of the "Q" track the same for the rest of the tracks recorded at the same time the "Q" track was done. So in essence, comping one track comps all. Will grouping tracks in Studio one achieve the same outcome? If so, how does one select which track is to be edited or "Comped" so the second or following tracks in that group also, act phase locked and comp swipe in the same way the "Q" track comping is done? Lastly, can a template be added and saved? Thanks in advance and probably to Gary for his response! Peace

Hi Mojave, I'm glad you're interested in Studio One, its quite a DAW. I have just tested it out. I recorded onto two tracks simultaneously. I made sure that 'Record Takes to Layers' was ticked (found under the Options menu). Then I grouped these two tracks. Select the tracks, then go to Track > Group selected Tracks. Now if you comp the one track, the same comping changes will be applied to the other track which is grouped to it. Comping is shown in tutorial 11 in the Studio One 101 course if you need a refresher on how comping is done. Comping is real easy in Studio One. You simply swipe across the layers and the changes are sent up to the main part. To give you a heads up, the next Studio One tutorial will be focusing on audio techniques such as grouping, folders, busses. So some of your questions will be answered in that course. I can't find anything about phase-locked. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find anything. Yes, you can save templates. Under the File menu is a 'Save as Template' choice. Also when you launch Studio One there is an option to open one of the existing Studio One Templates. When you save your own templates, they will show up there as well. Hope this helps.
