Cubase not saving MIDI Instrument settings
Hello, after setting the various MIDI Instruments and names from my Keyboard, into Cubase 5, the instruments change when restarting Cubase. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? In addition, the VST Device settings change. i.e., OUTPUT........ Stereo OUT Yamaha- MRX816: 1 Yamaha- MRX816: 2 After I save the project, I quit Cubase and restart. After restarting all the above will change to "Not Connected". Any ideas on correcting this? Thanks. ;0)

Hi Cubase 5, Not sure why that's happening... but you could try exporting the settings as XML from the MIDI Device Manager once you've set everything up just the way you like it. Then you can import the settings if they disappear again. Hope this helps Rounik

Thanks Rounik. Can you explain more about "XML" files? Does the Cubase manual deal with this issue?

XML is a file format which holds text data. It's a very popular format that many applications use to import, store and export text based information. You don't need to know much more about xml than that really - just think of it as a file format, which in this case, Cubase uses to store some settings in. :) R
