Finally have got everything up and running except haven't figured out how to set up the Firepod with the latest version of Cubase Le 4. I have a GB question. Was recording last night and the key of the song was indicating that it was in C, but it was actually in Bb, how can I correct that so that it reads Bb without changing the key of the song? Tried it and ended up lowering the key instead of just renaming it. The program is indicating that the song is recording in a key that is is not. Also I am frustrated with the loops tempos. I searched for hours trying to bring a loop tempo up to the tempo of the song I was recording. How do I do that? Checked the Dummies book and it says to just go to the green page where we pick the specific loops from, and click on the tempo bar then we could make a tempo change from a kind of drop down menu there. Hi Meadowloark, Yeah summer's coming... :-) There is only a way I know to change the song key without transposing. It might be a good idea to "Save as..." your song under a different name just in case. Here's how : 1- Select all the regions. (Just hit cmd-A or use "Edit > Select All") 2- Cut all regions (cmd-X or "Edit > Cut>) 3- Change the song Key. 4- Paste the regions back (cmd-V or "Edit > Paste". The song key will be changed but won't be transposed. As for your loops question, an appleloop should match the tempo of the song automatically. I'm surprised the appleloop don't match your song... can you provide me with further details. Or just upload a song again using sendspace. Will have to give the key change thing a try but still don't understand why the screen would indicate by default that a song is in C when it is not? Would GB not detect as soon as you strike a chord what key it is ? Even my Korg does that. It seems odd to me. What I could send you is not really a song but just a test of different patterns along with vocals. I think I have maxed out the free sendspace. Is there another medium we could use? Hi Meadowlark, To start up a new thread, click on "Start New Thread" at the top right of the GarageBand macProVideo forum page. When you start a new GarageBand project, you can specify the key of your song. There is no way GarageBand could guess the key of a song. However, it can show you the name of the chords you are playing in the Transport Control section (when Chord is selected). Hi this is great info. I am trying to do the same thing. We were recording with someone who LOST all of our mixes, including all of our detailed edits/ effect and now we only have the raw tracks. (I'm devastated to say the least!) I am now going to try to work on the tracks again myself using garage band. So the raw tracks are .wav format 24 bit 48Khz. Can I import these into garage band and actually edit them? thanks!!!
