Extend a note head to full duration of note
I use GarageBand 10.3.1 to record and master my choir performance. At times I have 8 singers record their vocals in 8 tracks and then mix them using GB. Sometimes in doing so I find a few singers not taking a note to its full duration. For example if a note is to be sung as a quarter note , it is sung a fraction short , say one eighth leaving 1/8th of silence thereafter. Is there a way in GB to extend the wave form to the full extent of the note duration? I tried flex editing but find that I can only use it to align the note head to the grid line. Is there a way to achieve this extension? Let me know if I need to elaborate further. Thanks,

Hi - Yes, absolutely, you can lengthen a note with Flex in GB! What you'd do is.. - Select the track/region and open the Editor pane [shortcut "E"] - With "Track" selected on the left, check "Enable Flex" - There should already be warp marker at the beginning of each word - When you hover over the wave, the pointer will turn to a symbol with three lines and a + - If there isn't a marker at the beginning of the word you want to lengthen, click to place one there - Click at the end of the word you want to lengthen - Drag the end of the word to the desired length [see the pix below] You can also see this in the video below, which demonstrates working with Flex Time in the Editor pane..
