Re: Garageband not saving my work
Hello Joe. Okay, I tried expanding the new audio track and there was no audio in it. I tried importing a different audio file from a different FL session, with the same result. (I have my own suspicion about why no audio file from FL cannot be imported in Garageband, but I will reveal more about that in my next message to you.) Then I tried importing another audio file that was NOT created in FL and onto Garageband and it worked. Perhaps there is a malfunction with FL's exporting function. Curious, how do I check the Sample Rate both in FL and Garageband?

Hi Julian - Ok, so it does sound like exporting from FL is where the problem lies. I can't tell just by looking at the Export Project Dialog what the problem might be, so you may have to do a little experimentation with different settings & options.. (maybe try Song mode instead of Pattern mode, if applicable..?) AFAIK GB's SR is 44.1k. It looks like you can check FL's current SR in System Settings > Audio.

Hello Joe. I went to the Audio settings in FL, but I am lost as to what I am suppose to select. Please see the following photo I have placed on my YT Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS8J6-84P0g Is there something that I am suppose to select (or deselect)?

Hi Julian - No, in the Audio Settings I think the only thing you'd want to check (related to bouncing/exporting) would be the sample rate -- since it's 44.1k that should be fine for an audiofile you plan to bring in to GB. The settings you could maybe experiment with might be the ones in the other (Export Project) dialog.. Like maybe if you're exporting Pattern but have no patterns defined in the song that could be why it's coming up blank? -- I"m just guessing here.. I just came across this, in the FL manual pages.. https://www.image-line.com/fl-studio-learning/fl-studio-online-manual/html/fformats_save_export.htm#export_splitmixertracks https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=16&v=WqOgHE45eBY&feature=emb_logo This seems to be what you need to do, so maybe something in that video will help.. Here's another link to a video about exporting audio from one of our FL courses. https://www.macprovideo.com/video/fl-studio-105-mastering-essentials/4-4-exporting-the-mix?afid=E470KLQ7r9 He's talking about exporting the entire song rather than individual tracks (as in the FL video above), but he does discuss some of the other export options, so maybe it'd be helpful anyway. I've also attached it below..

Hello Joe. My apologies for the late reply. Thank you for the links. I'm beginning to suspect that the reason why exporting from FL to Garageband is not working is because I am using a trial run. Is this why the exporting is not working or is it because I have to create a track?

Hi Julian - You shouldn't have to create a track ahead of time in GB before dragging a wav file in (you should be able to drag it into the blank area below the last track, and it'll create the new track for you), but it certainly wouldn't hurt to try it doing it anyway, just in case. The docs say the Trial version is fully functional, but they also seem to suggest that the Trial version is its own unique version, probably with its own specific limited feature set (otherwise how could they make money if the Trial had all the features of the paid versions).. If that's the case, it's entirely possible that the Trial version has some kind of export limitations -- many software trial versions limit saving/exporting. I couldn't find a definitive description of the Trial's feature set or limitations, so it sounds like it may be time for a call/email to Image Line.
