Looking to pick up a cheap MIDI controller
Hi guys, I've been making music for years now and I recently started using MIDI controllers with some VSTs and I am falling in love. Was wondering what you recommend for a cheap option that is fully compatible with GarageBand? My friend recommended me the Novation Mini MK3 and said it would get the job done. Here's the resource he was going off of. I believe this is the keyboardist of his favorite band. https://keyboardkraze.com/best-midi-keyboard-controllers-for-garage-band/ Thanks ya'll

Any class-compliant USB keyboard should work just fine with GarageBand. Choosing a specific keyboard will be a decision based on your personal needs.. A keyboard/piano player would undoubtedly want a longer keyboard [4-5 octaves, or even a full-size weighted piano-stye keyboard]. But if you're not really a keyboard player and don't intend to play two-handed on the keys, then any of the smaller 2-3 octave keyboards should be fine -- the Novation you mentioned seems ok, the Arturia Key Step is also popular, but there are dozens, all with similar layouts/features. If you'll want to control various on-screen knobs & sliders from the keyboard make sure to get one that has those additional controls and is easy enough to set up.
