I'd assume that no matter how faithful they try to be to the original design some of the internal components in any reissue are probably different -- add in the inevitable aging of an older unit and there'll likely be some subtle differences in character. As I recall Korg synths were never as fat-sounding as something like a Minimoog with its classic Moog Ladder Filter, but the MS-20 has the extra capability of its semi-modular design, which should offer some nice additional flexibility for sound design.
