Need help exporting to AAF files
Hi people, - I am new hear and just bought Logic Pro X today, so starting from ground zero. My number #1 reason to get Logic X was to work on .AAF files. I can import a 130MB .aaf file with no problems. However when I try to Export it all I get is a 375kB .aaf file! What am I doing wrong? Your help will be much appreciated. Paul

Hi Paul - Apparently when Logic exports to AAF it doesn't embed the audio files into the AAF file itself, it places them in a separate folder. I tried a test where I created a folder for the AAF and exported it into that -- Logic dropped the small (350kB) AAF file into it along with an Audio Files folder with the actual audio. I imported that AAF into Pro Tools and it worked ok. That said, I don't really use AAF myself, I usually just export audio stems (all tracks bounced from bar 1), which many people feel is a more reliable way to exchange audio between DAWs..

Thanks Joe. Very helpful. I kind of suspected something along those lines, but your answer made it clear and also confirmed the process. I am looking forward to learning LPX. Have a great day!
