Can 2 MIDI keyboards play 2 different softsynths simultaneously?
This should be an easy one... but I just can't figure it out. I want to play 2 different soft synths with 2 different keyboards. I want to play an EVB3 organ with my Axiom Pro 61 on one track and a Steinway piano with my Yamaha Midi controller on a different track. They are both connected via their USB ports to the Mac, and everything works fine when played individually (except that it doesn't seem to matter what midi channels I pick on either Logic inspector or my keyboard MIDI channel out). I set the Steinway in Logic and my Yamaha on MIDI channel 2, and the EVB3 is on MIDI channel 1. When I play the Yamaha with both tracks record-enabled, I hear BOTH the piano and the organ sound (same happens with the Axiom). Is there anyway to have each keyboard trigger a single sound and play/record both simultaneously? Thanks!

Hi Gman, The EVB3 Organ responds to multiple MIDI Channels. 1 = upper range 2 = lower range 3 = bass / pedal register So you may want to set the Steinway channel to 4 and the corresponding MIDI Controller to 4 as well and select which of the 3 channels you wish to control the EVB3 on. Let me know if that helps :) Rounik
