Hi everyone, Gary, and Rounik: Another question here: Is it possible to COPY a 'voice' within Ultrabeat and PASTE that voice into a different Ultrabeat (window)? I have a kick drum in one UB that I want to use in another UB, but when I copy the voice and sequence in one UB, the 'paste sequence' option window doesn't light up allowing me to paste. Is it even possible to copy/paste between different UB windows? Thanks. riftmazefee

Hi riftmazfee, It looks like you can only copy and paste voices within the same Ultrabeat. You can copy the Ultrabeat Instrument to another Software Instrument. In the Mixer Window, create a new Software Instrument. Then hold down Alt and drag the Ultrabeat to the new Software Instrument.

Heh Gary, Thanks, but in Mainstage 2 when you hold down the Alt key, it turns the plug-in off, so I just copied and pasted. While I got you here, here's another question (sorry for all these questions. I'm watching Bill Burgess's tutorial and surfing YouTube but can't find the answer to this question). Let's say that I have 2 different channel strips in the same patch, and I have 2 UB on both of those channel strips but with different UB presets, and I start the one channel strip with my MIDI controller and then I start the other channel strip with my MIDI controller, but the 2 channel strips (in this case the 2 UB's) ARE NOT SYNCING up in [b]tempo[/b]. How do I sync them so that they are in time together? Thanks always. riftmazefee

Interesting question riftmazefee. When you say that the UBs aren't syncing up, how is that happening? So you trigger the pattern on the one Ultrabeat, and then you move across to the next UB and trigger that pattern. Are you saying when you do this they go out of sync? So you do have pattern mode enabled on the UBs? Do you have another MIDI controller? Cos it may be easier to setup 2 x controllers, each assigned to a different UB. Then you can change the patterns simultaneously on the UBs. You could even try use the Musical Typing keyboard as another controller.

Are you saying when you do this they go out of sync? That's right Gary, and if I enable pattern mode on the UBs, I can't trigger the UBs with my PCR 300 (the patterns don't trigger off). And I'm still figuring out the mac keyboard. Skye Yeah probably my posts were the same. My posts weren't loading properly because I was using the ampersand symbol in the message. Hi riftmazefee, Can you try something for me. Can you try the same setup in Logic, and see if the UB's go out of sync as well. Would like to try distinguish if it is a Mainstage or Ultrabeat issue. Thanks.

Hi Gary, It seems to work fine in Logic, but I'm not triggering the 2 diff. UB's in Logic with a midi controller. I'm just hitting the space bar and they sync up. Sorry if this seems simple to you, but I still can't figure it out in Mainstage. The 2 diff. UB's in Mainstage don't sync up when I hit/press a button on my PCR. There is like a 1/2 sec. delay on either of the UB's that puts them out of sync:( Thanks. riftmazefee
