Hi all,a colleague of mine seems to have the letter p instead of the record ready button at the bottom of the channel strip. He has trashed his prefs and made a new template which solved the prob but when he shutdown and re-started the problem re-occurred. How can he get rid of the P and also what is it. mtec

Hi mtec, This simply shows that your friend has "Punch on the Fly" enabled from the Options > Punch on the Fly. :) Rounik

yup, I hear ya! It's inconsistent for me too in L9.1.3. Here's how I can replicate it: - Turn on "Punch on the Fly" - Record-Arm an Audio track. (still displays "R") - Hit Play. (still displays "R") - Hit Stop. (may display "P") - Hit Play again. (Displays "P") Hope this helps R (as in "Rounik" NOT "Record armed" ;-)

Cheers m8, yes ur correct very flakey. R sometimes P the next then i lost the R completely for a while. Glad i don't really use this function but i have to teach it. Thanks Mtec

I hear ya! Well, the flickering/inconsistent flashing 'P' is only a display glitch. The actual function of 'Punch on the Fly' works fine :)
