Soundtrack Pro: Clean an Apple Loop Vox
Dear Forum or Mr. Martin Sitter, In the Apple Loops you will find the following: Vocals>Male> Mikal Lyric 14, at 82 BPM The phrase says: "Watch them chop it up and feel the groove" In the "feel" part, it sounds as if there is a high pitched sound/noise, perhaps a tambourine or so? Now, I have tried to use Soundtrack Pro (after watching Martins Video) to clean that sound out, however, not successfully. Does anyone know how to do it? Best Regards/Chord123

Hi Chord 123, I listened back to the 'Mikal Lyric 14, at 82 BPM' and don't hear a high-pitched noise anywhere in the loop... What tempo & sample rate is your project (in Logic) at? Thanks R

Hi Chord 123 There is some slight sibilance on the 'f' of 'feel', is that what you're talking about? - Its only really noticable when I use really heavy compression. Logic has a de-esser that might come in handy if you really can't stand it! Cheers H

Hi Rounik & Hamish! I have my song settings at 24-bit and 48KHz. I brought the tempo down to 82 BPM (my song is at 128 BPM), however could still here the "noise", right when he sings "Feel". I also bounced the Vox at 82 BPM and then brought it in as a Wav file to my track, however it is still there. Then I made the attempt to clean it in Soundtrack Pro, by trying to remove that frequency, I also tried "surgical EQ". Interesting that you, Rounik, can't here it whilst me and Hamish can? Hmm, perhaps something else is going on? Best Regards/Chord123

Hi folks Its really not very noticeable at all. He's just got a pronounced 'f' sound. Without any seriously heavy compression I don't notice it at all - are you compressing the track at all? Cheers H

Hi Hamish! Yes, I have a slight compression on the vox. In my case I am using an SSL Compressor (Waves). However, the "noise" I do also notice as I "play" it in the loop browser. Perhaps I am just picky? :) Best/Chord123
