    Deleting Project Backup Files
I have a significant number of Logic files on my computer and also re-named duplicate files in which I just have a transport bar for gigging. I also have a ton of Project Backup Files that are essentially the same as the originals. How do I know which files are safe to delete in Logic....not only backup files but unused audio files as well. Is there anywhere that explains this?

Hi MGA, This is explained in the Logic 101 video course, but I can give you the essentials here :) When you create a new project and save it, Logic creates a project folder with some useful sub-folders. For example: Audio Files Project File Backups etc If you wish you can delete the Project file backups you don't wish to use inside the "Project File Backups" folder. To find unused audio files per project, open the project in Logic, go to the Bin and choose Edit > Select Unused Then choose Audio File > Delete File(s) Logic will ask if you're sure as this will now move the audio files to your Trash. If you're absolutely sure you do want to delete these unused audio files from the project folder and from your computer completely, then remember to empty the trash. Hope this helps, R P.S. Always a good idea to keep a backup of your projects on an external drive ;-)

Thank you lots. Pretty much confirmed what I was thinking, but in really good clarity. I have been through the 101 video and took notes, but obviously not fully enough. Off to start deleting backups!
