Hi, I have an audio file on the arrange window, I right click go to _ Covert to new sampler track. I can hear the samples when I trigger the keyboard . I record a pattern into the arrange window but I can't hear anything on play back. When I go into the piano roll and click on the midi notes I don't hear anything from that window either. Has anyone had this issue,any advise ? thnx J

Hi JayJay7, What version of Logic are you running? Are any of the channels or tracks solo'd... or is (region) solo mode on whereby the Bar Ruler is highlighted yellow? Does this happen in a new logic project using the same audio file?

Hi Jay, The only thing that comes to mind is that somehow the velocity of the recorded notes are very low... or the MIDI Out button in the Piano Roll is not engaged. Could you upload a simple project in which you're experiencing the problem? Make sure to save the exe instrument to the project folder (in Save as... options). Thanks,

Hi Jay, Thanks. Got the project. First I've gotta say I like the soulful vibe. So, this one had me scratching my head for a little while... it behaves exactly as you described. Seems the problem was related to the EXS channels being packed inside a folder. Although this shouldn't cause a problem in theory, it's fairly easy to resolve: 1. Go to Screenset 2 (hit "2" on your keyboard.) 2. Right-Click on the folder in the Arrange area and choose Folder > Unpack folder Choose to unpack to new tracks. Everything should playback fine now. 3. Try selecting all the tracks and pack to folder. (I use the shortcut: Shift-Cmd-F). Everything should play back fine again now too. Let me know if this works or if you've still experiencing problems. :)

Hey Rounik, Thanks & Thanks !!! It worked. Now, at the first & second attempt in following your instructions it did not work but on the third attempt it began working. As I mentioned one or two other projects have the same issue. Any recommendations you could give to avoid this issue in future projects ? Tnx again , Jay

Hey Jay, Glad to hear it. This issue (in this project) was down to the exs24 sampler instrument being inside a folder. In other projects simply double-click on an empty part of the Arrange area to go up one level. Or click on the "folder level hierarchy button in the top left of the arrange area. Perhaps you created a folder structure without realising it? This should work. :)
