System Overload Disk too slow??
I recently opened a project from another producer that contains 23 audio tracks with no processing or plug-ins on any of the tracks. It was working fine the other day. The disk performance meter was well within the safety zone. In fact it was at about 10 to 15 percent in regular pulses. Today I played the project back and I am getting the "Disk too slow/disk play-head sudden movement sensor may have been activated or something like that. I then remembered that I have a Mac Pro Video project called Day Dreamer from confessions of a drum and bass producer. I have several versions of this project saved. (project file backups). I opened one of the project file back-ups on daydreamer and I had the same problem. I then picked another project file back-p for Day Dreamer and it worked fine! everything was absolutely normal. I did a permissions repair and still no luck. The audio files are in mp3 format but that's not the issue as it was once working and now it's not. And I also have one daydreamer project that works fine and another that doesn't, both in mp3 format. Logic 9.1.8 Mac Pro 8 core 2.26 6 gb 0f ram OSX SL 10.6.8 Any Clues as to whats going on here? Rob

Hi Rob, Have you taken a look at this recent post: http://www.macprovideo.com/forum/audio/logic-pro/42385 A user had similar overload issues and we made a couple of suggestions. Also take a look at the Apple site that gives some recommendations to try resolve the overload error message: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3834?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US I hope these help.

I looked at all of those discussions and nothing helped. The project files were originally in MP3 format. The project would work fine at the initial import of the files, but then when I would come back the next day the project would overload the hd. I figured that this was a result of the files being streamed from the HD. They were no longer sitting in RAM as when I first would import them. (I imported them twice). I converted the mp3 files to aiff files and it works fine. Logic must not be able to stream very many mp3s at once. I trashed my pref file and lost all my key commands. Anyone know what the factory key command for returning the play head is called? Rob
