Hi - Is it possible to have different tempos set within one channel/track? I have captured a piano improvisation of a software piano, but did it in two takes, both with similar 'feel', but quite different tempos which don't blend well - though i feel they can be merged into one track. Is there a way of speeding up/or slowing down, the tempos of particular 'regions' within the channel/track, so they blend better? I tried using the global markers/tempo tools, but couldn't seem to change them [not sure how and/or if it can be done this way]. Does anyone have any advice? As noted, the channel/track is divided into the separate take regions, which will later be merged/joined when/if i can blend the tempos better, if possible? I still have quite a bit to learn in Logic! Thanks in advance :-)

You have a couple options, depending on how you captured the performance. When you say software piano, I'm assuming that means it's a MIDI take folder, containing both regions, and you're switching between the two? Is that correct, or did you record some external software piano into an audio track, creating audio regions in an AUDIO take folder?

After reading your post again, pretty sure you've got midi regions there. So here's one way you might approach the issue. In the take folder, select the take you want to use as a main file. Then click on the "New Track with Duplicate Settings" button (or hit COMMAND-D), and option-drag the take folder to the new track. And on this take folder, select the 2nd take. Now, beat-map to the first region. If you don't "protect" the other track, it should conform to the tempo changes you have beat mapped in the first.
