Advice needed for home studio & which way to run thing s
Hi I'd love some ideas of how to set up & connect all my studio gear. I'm running Logic Pro 9 & mainstage. I have a duet 2 interface. Studio monitors. I have apogee gio pedal I have korg m3 workstation. I have roland handsonic. I also have a allan & Heath mixing desk 12 channel I sing through a t c electronics voicelive 2 unit. I'm wondering do I run everything into my mixing desk then depending what I'm recording use the line out to go into the duet 2 ?

Thats quite a selection of studio gear. Your Allan & Heath mixing desk will be the master control of all the devices. Connect your Studio monitors to the outputs on this desk. (Which exact Allan & Heath mixing desk model do you have?) What type of outputs do you have on the mixing desk? In theory you would: Connect the Apogee Duet and Apogee Gio to your Mac. Connect their outputs to the inputs on your mixing desk Connect your Roland HandSonic to the Apogee Duet MIDI input on the breakout cable You can connect your TC Electronics VoiceLive 2 unit as an effects send on your mixing desk You will need an extra MIDI input for your Korg M3 Workstation. Do you have a MIDI input on your mixing desk? If not you will need to look at an extra MIDI input device, such as the this M-Audio USB-2-MIDI device (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Uno.html or if you want to connect multiple MIDI devices if you think you are going to be acquiring more external MIDI devices in the future take a look at something like this: http://www.motu.com/products/midi/128 Give us some more specs on the mixing desk and we can give further details on the setup.
