I have a mic connected to the babyface and it works. I have a guitar connected on the side of the babyface on the other channel and I don't get any level on the hardware inputs, software playback and the hardware outputs. MY guit is on the INST on the channel setting (hardware inputs). I have been on the RME support forums and zero solutions. So I was wondering if somebody would know about this problem. I am not a tech so I don't know all the engineering terms for recording. Yves Nadeau Thank you

The Manual is incomprehensible and it would be easier for me to learn mandarin. There is a lots of complaints about the guide. A technician did my set-up and I could call him again but it's gonna cost more money. I got into contact trough the RME support by a forum ( It's the only way with RME) and told me that I had to to go in the Talkwalk and take out channel 1/2 ( My talkwalk is at none) and told me to click on the wrench symbol so it has to be on INSTRUMENT): It is. So that's all I got and still and still have the problem. I wish this audio interface would be friendlier. I want to start recording but can't because I did a mistake by purchasing the Babyface.

I've already did ckeck cables and guitars. Everythings is fine to that point. Like I said my mic is working on Totalmix but not the guitar. I am OK with the complexity of the irem but the support or the manual guide is 0 value for a guy like me. I am stock with that audio interface. I might just go buy the Forte or the Apogge duet for less assles. Thank you

Yes, I did communicate on the forum with M.Daniel Fuchs ( RME tech support/admin.) and I didn't get any solution that work from him. He told me to take out channel 1/2 in the Talkwalk but in the Input I have ( none) written and if I click on the ' input' I have: An 1,2, AS 1,2 and ADAT 3,4,5,6,7,8. The input was a 'none' when the tech did the set-up.

I don't think that the port is faulty. A technician will come to check it out on saturday. It's gonna cost me another 50$. Like I said the next time I will buy the Forte or apogee duet. Thank you anyway

I would bet anythings that it is a stupid things that I did like clicking on something and it just doesn't read the connections. I will let you know.

The tech came in today and by the time he was getting ready I plug my guitar and the dawn thing work. It must been a miracle. I did fool around all week and I could never seems to make it work and now for no reason, bang, it's working. Thanks everybody for your help

I even didn't touch anything just waiting this saturday for the tech and I plug the same guitar with the same wire and it worked. I just hope it stays this week. I recorded last night finaly. I am enjoying a lot. So again thank you

I have conected a Preamp Warm Audio Wa12 to my RME babyface. With the Babyface alone I had 2 inputs channels in the Totalmix Hardware Inputs : 1- One with a 48V for mic ( AN 1 on Totalmix) 2- The other one with 48V/Inst ( AN 2 on Totalmix) This way I could use with no problem a channel for each as one for the mic and the other one for the acoustic guitar. But since I have connected the preamp ( Warm Audio) I always have to choose the same input ( AN 2) because that's the only way that I get a signal. I don't get anything in the AN 1 and I was wondering how I could get signals in the AN 1 so I can use one for the mic and the other one for the acoustic guitar. When I use the preamp the 48V on AN 1 & the 48/Inst on AN 2 are off. I was wondering if somebody could help me with this. Thank you

Thank you for the answer. I talked to a representative salesman in the music business and he told me that I shouldn't connect a preamp into a preamp. my set-up is: 1-Avantone CV 12 ( tube) mic with power supply that connect: 2-into the Warm audio 12 ( preamp): 3-into an RNC 1773 compressor (really nice compressor): 4-into my audio interface Babyface. I get a buzz sound when I connect my guitar into the Warm audio 12. I just want to know if it's true that it isn't suitable to connect a preamp into another preamp. thank you
