Hi I just started using Garageband 09'. I bought Sting's Message in a bottle lesson and can't find a way to change my instrument sound. My guitar sound is awful. instead of a clean channel there are too many effects. I couldn't find a way to clear and change my instrument's setting. any idea? Thanks Micha

Thank Rounik Yes I tried the mixer and Setup but there is nothing there to adjust my guitar sound. I also don't use the lessons much but wanted to tryout something more advance like Message In a Bottle. I have recorded in the past using Fortex 4 track on types so all this digital recording is too much to "swallow". it will probably take me longer to leran Garagband then actually play guitar...-:) Cheers Micha

hi guys I am looking for a step up from iMovie video editing tool. I have been using Premiere Pro since the late 90's but I am not sure I want to pay $500 for an upgrade or just use FCE 4 instead. I mostly edit personal clips so Premiere seems to be way to heavy for my needs. From some users feedback I get the impression the FCE is not that good. I wish I could pickup a trial version but not from Apple I guess. Any thoughts, opinion will be helpful. Cheers Micha

Thank Rounik I don't like iMovie's interface. it's annoying and confusing. I never know what's a project and what's an event. I hate the fact the all my movies are either copied or moved to a new location. I do mostly family movies and vacations. I used to do some professional work and used Premiere for that, but that was 8 years ago and the industry and I changed quite a lot...-) Thanks, I will give it a thought and maybe just get the Premiere Pro upgrade instead of FCE. Hi guys I bought a copy of FCE 4. The native file format I use is H.264 and it seems like FCE needs to render each clip on the timeline. That's ridicules. Even if I don't add anything, in order to preview the clip it needs to render it. My question is, do I need to convert the files to something else first? In FCE I could not find a sequence setting the same as my footage (I though the FCE will recognize it automatically like so many other cheap/ free NLE tools). Thanks, Micha

Thanks Rounik I found FCE to be a bit outdated. I don't understand the long work-flow of converting h.264 files into intermediate then export to QT and convert to h.264 again. I tried exporting directly to h.264 from FCE but the quality was terrible compared to iMovie or the free Streamclip. also the FCE UI looks like something from the 90's. All in all it does a good job but a bit outdated don't you think?

Thanks for that Philcutting, I will give it another try. I am currently using Premiere Pro CS5 and find it much better to use with my Canon 7D footage and H.264. Cheers micha
