I need help trying to get my microphone to record sound. I downloaded the asio4all and all the sound is coming out of the keyboard and my machine. Please help me

I can't get my mic to work. Please help. I downloaded asio4all and I can't figure out what's the problem. I have it armed. I have the 48v powered on. My mbox is just sitting there. The cable and wires are fine I hardly use it. I just need help getting the sound from my mic to work. Everything else is working. .
