Anyone have any advice, hints, links, or suggestions on using logic live?? I know this is a pretty broad question but I cant seem to find much online from poeple about this. Whether its for full performance or just for the instruments...or even if you think ableton is the only game o=in town for such a thing (as a lot of people have told me!) thanks in advance!

well sort of anything theoretically! like i know i could probably just press play and check my emails..... but i suppose creating melody lines which could be looped, triggering pre-made ultrabeat patterns and making some on the fly. Id also like to have half made or fully made songs which I could add to during a live performace...all general stuff really. Mainstage doesnt really seem equiped for this sort of loop/song buzz im going for... Im so happy with logic's sampler, synths, ultrabeat...etc, etc, that i dont really want to use (or learn!) ableton.....

thanks for the advice. that just seems like a pretty restrictive way to work, like logic - the powerfull tool that it is - is then cut of from live creation... do you know of anyone who uses logic live at all? specifically with arrange window playng something or recording live?

thanks Rounik (the above reply is to Christian by the way!) spose i might just have to get into the whole ableton thing. yeh i was trying out ultrabeat and a synth in mainstage which was great but more of a set up for a number of performers. tis a wee bit depressing that the big cheese in midi that i though logic was seems to be universally seen as pretty unstable or unworkable live...or perhaps its that ableton is just too good ....thanks agains guys for all the advice. your always so quick that i have this picture of you sitting there knocking back coffees just wating for a question to come in so you can come to the rescue! :)

i think the general wisdom on these matters is that ableton doesnt stand up to logic/pro tools when it somes to the over all sound. This has been reported by many users and even defended by ableton themselves!...i think version 7 tries to address some of these issues. Its largely to do with things like warping and other 'behind the scenes' stuff in ableton which make it a lot easier to do things, but compromises some of the sound...not sure if this helps as its the opposite to your experience but anyway...! :)

is there any official word on if and when such a thing might be out??was thinkin of getting reason 3 101 but dont wana waste the money on it to find that theres a new one for version 4 out soon... especially as reason 3 101 wont have anything on the new interface and instruments etc....im suprised there hasnt been an official word on the yet...

well......to give you the opinion from the other side, i had a problem with sample playback in reason 3 when i my macbook. propellorheads told me its an issue with intel machines and reason, which they 'fixed' with reason 4, but wouldn't be fixing for reason 3.....very annoying so if their actualy telling you theres problems with the PPC code,id give it a miss....veeeeery annoying conditions to work under....

hello there, I cant seem to get a frequency analysis view in soundtrack pro?? im aware of that spectrum view and 'analysis' options, but im looking for something similar to the cool edit/audition little black box with a graph of amp and frequency (and also estimating pitch) closest thing i can find is the multimeter but thats a bit crappy.... any help much appreciated! hey there...yeh got SP2 yeh im aware of all that stuff...im not so much wanting to get rid of anything as apposed to investigate the audio...for stuff like Csound...need a good big Frequency Analyzer to look at all or parts of a track. it seems that theres a bit of a gap in the mac market for a really good audio editor like soundforge or cool edit pro/audition...anyway thanks for the help!
