I need an application where I can import music sheets from PDF and then add/remove/change, etc. In the past I have manually copied the notes from the music sheet into Logic Pro's score editor. That's a very tiresome and time consuming affair. I don't play the piano very well, so it would also take me forever to play the music into Logic Pro with my MIDI keyboard. Some time ago I downloaded the Sibelius 7 trial version but I never really had the time for using it within the 30 day period. I still have Sibelius on my laptop and I can use it with some restrictions. When I am in Sibelius' Import picture there is a feature called 'PhotoScore' and it claims that I can 'Scan in printed music or read PDFs, then send them back to Sibelius to edit, transpose, play back or print'. I cannot use this feature — probably due to the restrictions — so I don't know if this is the right application for my needs. Now, my questions to the Sibelius wizards are; Does the PhotoScore feature work at all? Is it worth spending money on? Is there any other/better (and also a student friendly priced) application that you would recommend instead? Regards Mike

I have downloaded the trail version of PhotoScore, which I can use without using Sibelius. That makes it a bit cheaper if I decide to purchase the full version. You are right, it has a few problems with reading the score if it's a copy of a copy of a copy... Fortunately I can save it to MIDI and change it in Logic Pro. Thanks for the reply. Mike

I recently formatted my Mac and installed my Logic 9 upgrade without installing any previous versions. This was suggested by Apple phone support. But every time I open Logic it wants me to enter my user information - serial number and thereafter the Xkey. Does anybody know how can I change that?

No, how would force quitting Finder help Logic keeping my serial number and xkey info? I'm not quite what it is you want me to do?

Hi Gary & Rounik, I had hoped to write you with positive news to my problem, but sadly no. Gary, I've looked through preferences and even searched for these files via Finder, but they are not to be found on my computer anywhere? There are actually no files starting with com.apple.logic.pro or anything similar for Logic, but I am still able to start it up. Rounik, Moving the two files from the library didn't help either I'm afraid. I moved them to an external hard drive, but Logic only replaced them the next time I opened it. I am wondering if my Logic install disc is able to "repair" the application or if I have to delete everything and start over? Mike

Hi Gary, I had no problems finding the files Rounik were mentioning, but it didn't have any effect moving them though. In respect to the files you wanted me to find, there is no library folder in my user folder. This is located when I choose Macintosh HD, then I can choose Library/Preferences. But the files you told me to find are not there. All my Native instrument, Microsoft office, etc. logfile and plist files are located there, so I would imagine I'm at the right place. As I wrote before, I tried to locate the files by searching for them via the Finder search function, without any luck.. I am still open for suggestions if you have any? Mike

Sorry for not keeping you posted, but I've been busy at school. Somehow the problem solved it self. One day it just worked on it's own. Don't ask me how.. Thanks again for all your feedback and help.
