[i]Wow... going from 160 bpm to 68... are you doing ambient DnB? ;-)[/i] Actually what I'm doing is trying to build a song around a sound I constructed while working through SteveH's tutorial on the ES2. It's sort of an almost "churchy" sounding, slowly morphing organ, using both the LFOs and also using the vector to control the triangle. I've sort of made a commitment to write a song for every tutorial I do, so I'm actually using the things I learn in my music instead of just learning it from an academic point of view. I liked the beat with all the artifacts because it sounds kind of creepy and cool at the same time, which I think also describes the organ sound. Without getting too political, I had a friend sort of dare me to write a song about some recent efforts in some states to break down the boundaries between Church and State. The tentative title of the song is "Theocracy." No lyrics as of yet. Just a concept and some parallel 4ths in E minor. Hard to write a politically themed song without it coming off sounding sanctimonious itself, I find. A sanctimonious song bewailing the dangers of sanctimoniousness... shoot me now if that's the song I end up writing... So, anyway, I'm very grateful you're there to offer up your Logic wisdom. Strangely, it works here whether the link is set to purple or not...

Ok, it no longer works if I make both the arrange AND the environment gray. But if the arrange is gray and the environment is purple, it still works. i.e. with a gray arrange and a purple environment, if I select a track in the arrange, it is highlighted in the environment.

Hello, all I notice by checking the "software updater" that there's a new Prokit updater available. Any word on if it's a good thing? I have heard that 10.6.7 isn't a very good system update and should probably be skipped, and was wondering if that reflects badly on the Prokit update as well.

Thanks Ski, appreciate the input, and this validates what I've been told by others as well. So how long after an update has been released do you go ahead and take the "plunge?" I mean, eventually you HAVE to update, don't you, to be able to take advantage of new features? I was kind of hesitant to move from 10.5.8, as it seemed very stable to me, but then moved to 10.6.6 to take advantage of 64-bit mode. And though I love the 64-bit thing, the system felt better on 10.5.8. And STILL waiting for WAVES to come out with their 64-bit versions. Last I asked, it was supposed to become available in Jan of 2011... oh well.

I gotta tell you, although I enjoy the extra power I get with 64 bit mode, I had far fewer crashes and unexpected behaviors running Logic on 10.5.8 in 32 bit mode. To create that clone system, guessing I can just go into Time Machine and clone it out from there, correct?
