I have to agree with you about Olav. I have been producing for a number of years and have done pretty much all the tutorials there are including sonicacademy.com and pointblank online (which is incredibly expensive) and i have to say, Olav is the best at explaining things. I normally stay up till quite late when i'm doing the tutorials and i often find that through the week i fall asleep through a lot of tutorials. This hasn't happened with Olavs videos as he keeps you interested throughout, and he makes me laugh! The only other person that ranks as highly in my book is D. Ramirez, he has some great free tutorials on youtube which i would recommend

Alright guys Just wanted to say how useful i've been finding the Ableton videos, especially the ones by Olav Basoski and the one on racks. I have learned alot over the last few weeks which is a big call as i've been producing for a while and completed alot of online production courses....so keep up the good work! I have just finished a Deep House track which demonstrates a few of the techniques which i have picked up in the videos. I made the track in about 12 hours from start to finish as it is for a competition run by Ableton and they gave a 24 hour deadline! At first i thought there was no way i would be able to make anything half decent, but using the techniques i've picked up i managed to put something good together. In fact, out of over 1200 entries i'm floating somewhere around the top 20! Good luck mate you should do well, that's if it was judged on quality......i just hope you have alot of friends as unfortunately it's all judged on how many people you can spam and get to sign up to soundcloud! Excellent i will definitely be checking that out later! I also wanted to give thanks to everyone thats voted for me so far. Out of over 1,500 entries i'm sitting around the top 30 which is amazing, so thanks again for the support! I'm sure you know how these competitions work, it's more of a popularity contest and how many Soundcloud followers you have which is a croc of ****. I wish people would start running competitions and judge on actual quality. Anyhow if i end up in the top 25 when the comp ends, a winner will be chosen based on quality of the song.....so i'm really trying to get myself in there to have a chance. Ha! I wish! at the last minute i was pushed into 30th place....some blatant cheating went on. One guy in particular acquired 500 votes in the last couple of days. Lot's of people have kicked up a stink with Ableton, although i'm sure they have ways to monitor people that paid for votes etc Hopefully they will disqualify them....we shall see!
