Is there a performance gain by doing this? If I understand correctly, Reason doesn't stream any sounds from HD, so I assume not. Anyone that knows, please clarify. Thanks!

[/quote] Right. This is an obvious benefit. When you had the ReFills on your internal drive and had problems, do you remember how many free GB you had on your internal drive? You're supposed to have at least 10GB free for the computer to function smoothly. I wonder if this had anything to do with the problems you had.

Rounik and Silk Wolf、 Thanks for your input. Very interesting that even though it *shouldn't* matter (at least not significantly), it seems to make a difference. The reason for my interest in this topic is that I just bought the combo ReFill package they came out with, and I have about 70GB of free space on the internal HD of my MBP. I'm not sure how much space all those ReFills are going to consume.

Hello. I just noticed the Live 6 video is out. Awesome. I'm going to get at it as soon as I'm done posting here. In the mean time, I have a question... I use Live 6 for recording vocals a lot. The Live mixer only show if the levels are clipping (red) or not (green), right? Is there a way to see in more detail how hot/cold the incoming levels are (post A/D stage) in Live? If not, is there a good utility you recommend? Thanks. Alright, going to get the Live 6 video now..

Wow. No, I didn't know that. I just tested it out, and that's exactly what I was looking for. I never use session when I'm tracking, but I guess I'm going to be using it from now on when checking levels. I wish they made this feature available in arrangement as well, though. Thanks a bunch for the tip, and also for the Live 6 video.
