I hope that this is a simple one to answer.I have set three samples on each key ( over three notes ) to be played back using velocity to trigger reverse and ' wet' versions of the same set also.The problem is that the samples seem to be disappearing for a while...then coming back.They don't respond to the finger-strikes properly. I may be doing something fundamentally wrong as I have only had Logic for 8 months.The sampler is my last tool/instrument to master. How come the Factory sounds 'respond' perfectly ? I'm making some cool sounds but the playback is frustrating.I know it can be done somehow. Thanks in advance.Replies are much needed.

Thanks. I hadn't even been doing a song.I was doing exercises in loading up a home-made sample set.I have found the velocity-range setting in Zone view and Group view confusing.I mean which one to use.I went back and kept to Zone view.Routing and velocity being set there.I had tampered with these parameters in the separate Group view.Maybe I shouldn't have. The samples play back fine now. I still find the assigning of the Velocity confusing in the Group mode.How does it affect what you set in Zone view ? Thanks ..I will keep on trialing and error-ing !!

Hello. This concerns acoustic & electric guitars using a 2 mic set-up. Can someone please explain the best way to set the channels up in Logic's mixer ? How do I use Sample Delay and the Gain utilities in order to deal with the phase ? What is 'Sum to Mono '? Is it relevant here ? Sorry about the multiple questions but...ANY help would be much appreciated as it means I'll be able to really experiment confidently with the source sound.Cheers

The thing is..for rhythm guitar or acoustic where the instrument is part of the larger band and not really solo type..I would say the channel strip presets are fine.Much like a Pod.But there's an edge that I miss that only my valve amp can give.The Source sound. When an electric lead guitar part or an acoustic guitar is more up-front and bare..then the double miking/amp is supposed to give more tonal variety and a lot of bands do it this way. Similar too with the acoustic mic'ing of having a pair spread 3:1 or something. One mic is good but I am interested in the XY and MS etc configurations at the amp and need help regarding this.... ONLY with how the two channels are set-up in Logic's mixer.Then what to apply to the channels and in what way. I know that certain tools are used to deal with the phase issues.... I have been reading the manual but it just flits through it rather than specifying the exact way to use Gain/Sample Delay/Direction Mixer etc. So , to try and cut all this down...I need to know what to do with the two signals from the amp/acoustic....and where to apply the relevant tools to fix the phase issues. Thanks for the reply and I hope this makes it clearer as to what I want..and that's to choose from as many options as I can....(even if I may end up preferring the one mic option). Thanks Pala

Forgive me for any Duh!ness. Tap Tempo. The manual is a head-scratch for me on this. I really need some MPV clarity. How do I set up a project so I can set the timing by tapping in the tempo ? I'd like to make a template. If I have missed it elsewhere, I am sorry.I usually just set it in the transport but for this song I really have to strum,sing..feel the tempo in the head just after...tap it in...Like a drummer would count-in. Thanks.

This really is the perfect answer to my query.It's going to help a lot of others too. It has even made me think of assigning controllers too. Sometimes, what I view as a basic requirement can be quite awkward to see in Logic for me but, once it's explained..it's back to loving Logic. Thank you

The De-esser in Logic is a little unsubtle. I just find the spectrum of thought a little daunting behind this subject.. At one end , talk of meticulously automating the volume....then the plug-ins...then there is the ' pencil and rubber band around the mic ' method.Which is kind of funny ! This seems Monty Python. Why such vastly different schools of thought ? How do I go about volume-automating the esses ? Some run through would be brilliant. All that technology and all we need is a pencil and a rubber band ?
