This course, by Apple Certified trainer Ben Balser, dives into FCP's editing techniques and workflows. He explains various edit types, clip moving tools and navigation tips that are essential to the Final Cut Pro experience.
Ben Balser grew up doing media production and music composition from a very early age. He founded the Louisiana Cajun Cutters FCP users group and runs the FinalCutProX.guru website.
So, let's start editing. This course goes over the various different type of edits including append, insert, connect, replace and overwrite edits. Ben explains what they are, why they are used and how to incorporate them into the Final Cut Pro workflow.
From there, you learn about different editing techniques, like separating video and audio clips, deleting portions of clips and using placeholders. Next, is a section on moving clips on the magnetic timeline with precision and snapping techniques.
The final section of this course is all about getting around a project. It is here that Ben explains different navigation tips that are designed to speed up and create efficiencies in your editing workflow. By the time you finish this course you will be ready to edit any basic project in FCP.
Be sure to watch all of our courses in this new series on Final Cut Pro!
Fantastic course. I find Ben's style so easy to watch and follow. There was no filler at all - just a pure stream of useful tips from beginning to end. Boom!

Really clear and well paced course!!!! Try to do practice questions as they do help memorize some key words or shortcuts. I will highly recommend this course.
