This OS X update, El Capitan, adds a mountain of new features to Apple's ever-expanding operating system. See what this update is all about in this new tutorial course by our favorite Mac expert, Francesco Schiavon!
Francesco Schiavon is a recognized expert in the topic of digital media deployment for web and optical disc. A dedicated educator, Francesco has spent the last decade teaching in some of Canada's leading multimedia schools.
El Capitan and Yosemite are all part of the same Apple OS X ecosystem. (In fact, for you geography buffs out there, El Capitan is actually located in Yosemite National Park). So it only makes sense that this El Capitan update expands OS X and is a logical add-on to our acclaimed Yosemite series of courses. So, if you're new to the Mac, we suggest you explore our Yosemite courses first, before you ascend El Capitan!
In this course, you learn about both the subtle and the big changes that El Capitan brings to the Mac. Francesco teaches you how to use the new Split View. He also demonstrates the new Spotlight and Safari features designed to improve search and productivity. Mail, too, has been enhanced and Francesco takes you through every new improvement. Next up is Notes which is, perhaps, the most tweaked of all the apps in El Capitan. Notes has finally become a really useful application with all kinds of productivity enhancements! See them all in action!
So get to the top of El Capitan with a boost from everyone's favorite Apple OS X trainer: Francesco Schiavon!

A glimpse under the hood.
This course shows the new and enhanced features in El Capitan clearly and in great detail.
I would point out however, if you are rather new to OSX, the operating system to Mac, do not start here.
You should rather start with the courses for the previous version - Yosomete.
El Capitan is not that different, and you will grasp the concept of how your Mac works.
