Photography and videography – without proper lighting – is like listening to music with awful sound quality. To assure that your visuals look their very best, you'll need to master the lighting techniques presented in this 21-tutorial course by Matt Vanacoro...
Matt Vanacoro is an A-List New York City based performer, composer and educator with deep experience in all aspects of production, synthesis, electronic keyboards and music technology...
Lighting is everything in the world of photography. Without it there's nothing to see! And, as the quality of your lighting goes up, so does the quality and look of your pictures. In this course – by photo/video expert Matt Vanacoro – you learn about all the different kinds of lighting tools, techniques and theory that insure that your work will always look its best.
Matt starts this course with some lighting basics. Here you learn the terminology and the some of the basics about strobe, continuous and flash technologies. Next there's a dedicated section on flash use, where you get the info on built-in, on-camera and external systems all the way to complex, multi-strobe setups.
Next, is a series of tutorials on continuous lighting techniques. Matt focuses in on many of the different types of studio lighting with all their myriad configurations. You get to see how a professional photographer uses angles, shadows and color temperature to enhance the subject matter and to also create moods.
It doesn't matter if you use a high-end DSLR or a smartphone! Just sit back, watch and learn as Matt Vanacoro "enlightens" you with his lighting techniques for still and video photographers.

Matt continues with his follow-on course in photography of everything in basic lighting. It's a very well rounded lecture. I wish he would have included a few examples of photos with the various types of lighting he discussed....a picture is worth a few thousand words, as they say.
