This Cubase scoring course takes your scoring to picture techniques to the next level. Join trainer Hollin Jones as he explains some advanced scoring tools that'll make your game, TV or film scoring workflow even more efficient.
Scoring to picture is never easy. There are a lot of technical and human skills you need to understand to navigate some very complicated situations. This course is designed to do just that. In the first few tutorials, you learn about goals, aims and how to manage the filmmaker/composer relationship. Then, Hollin explores some of the more advanced tools and techniques that Cubase helps you deal with like tempo, transposition and time stretching.
The next section is all about making music. Here is where you see how to use piano, strings, synths and textures to extract the desired emotional response from the audience. The last several tutorials in this course revert back to the technical side of things where you learn about surround, batch exporting, stems and more. So join Hollin Jones and learn even more about scoring to picture in Cubase!
There's some very useful technical advise here concerning batch export, tempo track and the like. Personally I didn't think the part about the actual writing of the music was that useful as these basic Cubase functions are probably familiar to most people from the basic tutorials. Nevertheless, as it's not a very time-consuming task, I think this tutorial is worth watching.

It was very informative... but I wouldn't call it "Advanced Scoring". It was fairly basic, beginner to intermediate level training. I learned a couple of things... but not a lot. I certainly wouldn't look at this training as "Advanced" though. Crystal clear instruction, good content, excellent flow from subject to subject -- just not "Advanced". Other than that... I loved it.
