In the Ear Training 101 course you learned how to identify melodic notes and intervals. In this exercise-filled, 49-video course, Gregg Fine teaches you how to hear chords and harmonies. Educate your ears!
Gregg Fine, founder and principal composer of Hidden Tiger Music, is an award-winning guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and veteran composer of music for advertising.
Imagine listening to a piece of music and immediately knowing what chords and harmonies are being performed. Then imagine being able to easily write down those chord progressions by simply listening, rather than "fishing around" on a keyboard or guitar. This course, designed by our music theory expert Gregg Fine, will get you on your way to hearing music vertically so you can identify, chord types, colors, added notes and progressions!
Greg takes you on a step-by-step ear training journey in this beautifully designed course. You start with 2 notes (dyads), move on to 3 notes (triads) and then slowly work your way up to multi note 7th chords and beyond!
Greg has meticulously created more than 30 deep listening exercise tutorials in this course for you to practice over and over again to assure that you master the art of hearing music vertically (chords and harmonies) as the lessons proceed.
By the time you complete this course, and the associated exercise files, you will be well on your way to hearing music like you've never heard it before.
Be prepared to put in the time with this one. As with all Gregg's courses, he brings theory to life and puts you in the driving seat regularly enough to keep you engaged throughout. You definitely need to space out your practice though, because there's a lot to absorb and your ears are going to get tired! Some great tips on how to distinguish between similar chord types (my personal favorite being focusing in on where the perfect fourth interval is with triad intervals). Thanks for another great course. Come back to macprovideo, Gregg :-)

This would be better if the notes were displayed on a keyboard rather than on a staff. Most of us know the notes on the keyboard but do not read music. Somebody should start doing music theory for those of us that do not read music. In fact of all the DJ/producers I know - NONE read music.
