Great tutorial on the production of a drum and bass track by Nigel Broad in Logic Pro.
Nigel demonstrates how he builds a track from start-to-finish in this course; his workflow, production and mixing techniques.
Although this course was produced in an earlier version of Logic Pro (8 I believe) all techniques shown can be easily transferred to other DAWs, including Logic Pro X :-P

This course is absolutely fantastic. It's an insight into the working methods of an absolute pro. It is a privilege to be let into so much for the price. Nigel, MacProVidz, you guys rock.....

Whether you are into Drum and Bass or not, this tutorial is perfect for actually producing music in Logic.
Sometimes I find myself getting mired down into the complexities of a single Logic feature. Whereas Nigel through his tutorial guides you through to completion of an entire song.

This tutorial started out very simply but gathered in richness and complexity as it went along. By the end I was very impressed at the quality of the track. Nigel certainly knows his way around Logic Studio! I have been using Logic on and off for a while now (just as an amateur of course) and have been through Logic 101. There's no doubt that you need to know Logic, and the principles of mixing, quite well (e.g., the point of using a compressor and how it works) in order not to follow along in parrot-fashion. There are loads of neat tricks and Nigel is kind enough to share a number of useful techniques, such as using "key kicks". I was a little disappointed that his use of a relatively expensive external plug-in (Stylus RMX), although it's quite possible to split up Apple midi loops, or create one's own using Ultrabeat of course. I was encouraged by Nigel's relaxed attitude to doing what sounds right, and his practical advice about experimenting with sounds and taking a break! All in all a very worthwhile tutorial that merits repeated viewings.

Sometimes a glimpse of somebody else's song construction vibe can be useful. The dnb confessions video was honest and revealing. Not earth shattering, just a nice snapshot of bringing a dnb song together. Very enjoyable.
